Mepore Film Dressing

Mepore Film can be used by lay persons under supervision of health care professionals.

1. Cleanse the area of application in accordance to clinical practice, dry thoroughly. To ensure proper adhesion, do not use moisturizers on the skin covered by the dressing.
2. Choose a dressing size that overlap at least 1-2 cm beyond the wound area or medical device to allow for proper adhesion to dry healthy skin.
3. Remove the printed release liner and apply the sticky side to the skin without stretching the dressing.
4. Remove the paper frames and tear off the two white tabs. Gently press the product to ensure proper adhesion to the skin.
5. Upon removal grasp the edge and slowly peel the dressing from the skin in the direction of hair growth.

Care should be taken to ensure that Mepore Film is not applied under tension, to prevent shear forces causing damage to the skin. When applying over joints be careful to apply in such a way that it does not impair flexibility of the joint.

Mepore Film should be changed when it starts to come off, if damaged or as indicated by clinical practice.

Disposal should be handled according to local environmental procedures.

Precautions

Do not use Mepore Film on patient with known hypersensitivity to acrylic adhesives or other materials/components of the product. Take extra care when applying on fragile skin. Use on fragile skin may cause skin irritation.

Do not stretch the dressing when applying. Applying under tension may cause blisters.

Mepore Film should not replace sutures or other primary wound closure methods.

If you see signs of infection e.g. fever or the wound or surrounding skin becoming red, warm or swollen, consult a health care professional for appropriate treatment.

Do not reuse. If reused performance of the product may deteriorate, cross contamination may occur.

Sterile. Do not use if sterile barrier is damaged or opened prior to use. Do not re-sterilise.

Warnings

Do not use Mepore Film for fixation of life saving devices other than the ones mentioned in the intended use.
