Description
Here is a polished, clearer version while preserving the original meaning and safety information:
Mepilex Border is designed for use as part of a prophylactic therapy to help prevent skin damage—such as pressure ulcers—and to reduce postoperative blistering.
It is also intended for managing a wide range of exuding wounds, including pressure ulcers, leg ulcers, foot ulcers, traumatic wounds (e.g., skin tears), and surgical wounds.
Additionally, Mepilex Border can be used on dry or necrotic wounds when combined with gels.
Precautions
-
Do not use on patients with known hypersensitivity to any of the materials or components of the product.
-
Do not use with oxidising agents such as hypochlorite solutions or hydrogen peroxide.
-
If signs of clinical infection occur—such as fever, or the wound or surrounding skin becoming red, warm, or swollen—consult a healthcare professional for appropriate treatment.
-
Using dressings as part of a prophylactic therapy does not replace the need for a comprehensive pressure-ulcer prevention protocol (e.g., support surfaces, positioning, nutrition, hydration, skin care, and mobility).
-
Do not reuse. Reuse may degrade product performance and increase the risk of cross-contamination.
-
The product is sterile. Do not use if the sterile barrier is damaged or opened prior to use.
-
Do not re-sterilise.
Warnings
-
The foam may become more yellow when exposed to light, air, or heat. This does not affect the product’s properties.
-
Any serious incident related to the use of Mepilex Border should be reported to Mölnlycke Health Care and to your local competent authority.
