Mepilex Border Flex is an all-in-one oval foam dressing with advanced fluid-handling capabilities and the benefits of Safetac soft silicone technology. Its border is designed to adapt to body contours and distribute forces along the edges, helping minimize rolling and improving both conformability and the ability to stay in place.

The dressing is waterproof, viral proof, and bacterial proof, with a multilayer wound pad designed to maintain optimal moisture balance and support effective fluid uptake.

Indications

Mepilex Border Flex is designed for a wide range of exuding wounds such as pressure ulcers, leg and foot ulcers, and traumatic wounds including skin tears and surgical wounds.

It can also be used on dry or necrotic wounds in combination with gels.

It may also be used as part of a prophylactic approach to help prevent skin damage, such as pressure ulcers or postoperative blistering.

Precautions

• Do not use on patients with known sensitivity to the dressing or its components. If signs of infection appear, consult a healthcare professional.
• Do not use Mepilex Border Flex with oxidizing agents such as hypochlorite solutions or hydrogen peroxide.
• Using dressings as part of a prophylactic regimen does not replace the need for a complete pressure-injury prevention protocol, including support surfaces, positioning, nutrition, hydration, skin care, and mobility.
